Ten years ago our family traveled to Turkey for the first time, without really knowing what to expect. As we sailed along the coast, we fell in love with the natural beauty of the landscape, the cultural richness of the country and the warm hospitality of the people. Our trip left such a lasting impression that we continued to return every year since then. Last year we bought the Dulcinea to enjoy on our vacations and with hopes that others could share in this special experience. We have outfitted the boat with all the modern conveniences and facilities and we are sure it will provide you with total comfort.

THE BLUE CRUISE
For first time visitors, we recommend a remarkable route, "The Blue Cruise". Aptly titled for the long stretch of rich blue waters, this passage follows the Turkish Mediterranean coast to stunning ancient ruins, charming seaside villages, and protected natural preservation areas.

ACCOMMODATION
The Dulcinea is a family-owned, luxury gullet (as ships are known on the Aegean) built by hand in the ancient tradition unique to the Turkish coast. It is built of fine hardwoods throughout, affording an esthetic pleasure rarely encountered in today's fiberglass boats.

The Dulcinea comfortably hosts 10 Guests in three elegant cabins and two deluxe suites, each offering a private bathroom with hot water showers. Passengers enjoy a spacious, sun-drenched hardwood deck with shaded resting areas, fine paneled craftsmanship, and a welcoming living room area with all the modern conveniences. It offers hardwood indoor and outdoor dining facilities, an outdoor bar, and every hint of excellence one would expect from a fully equipped luxury vessel. Measuring 27 meters (89 feet) in length, the Dulcinea was designed to bring the best of both the modern and the traditional worlds. The weight and sound-proofing quality of the wooden structure, the classic design and frequent use of sails make the voyage amazingly stable and quiet - a rare boating experience.

CREW
While sailing on the Dulcinea, you will be served by one of the finest crew on the coast. We have spent many years getting to know them and have assembled a dedicated group who are both courteous and attentive. They are all English speaking and very friendly. You will find their cooking, tour guiding and upkeep of the boat to be some of the most rewarding features of your Turkish vacation.

Food
There are few words that can describe the experience of dining "al fresco" on the Mediterranean Sea. The Turkish coastal region provides some of the world's finest ingredients and our staff will hand select all menu items from the finest local markets. Turkish cuisine is famed for its locally pressed fresh virgin olive oil, salads, meats, cheeses and other spices. All dietary needs and tastes can be accommodated.

You will leisurely enjoy a feast at breakfast and lunch in a shaded area on the open deck. Packed lunches will be provided for daily excursions while ashore at our various destinations. At the conclusion of our daily cocktail hour at sunset, dinner will be served under the Mediterranean sky, with soft Turkish music in the background. A full bar and wine list will be provided to your preferences. We will also be happy to recommend to you our favorite restaurants and many hard to find gems in the villages along our route. Snorkeling : The Aegean Sea is renowned for its wonderful coral reefs, drawing even some of the most avid snorkelers to this region. Our captain will guide you to little known coves, exuberant aquatic life and ancient underwater ruins. The Dulcinea is fully equipped to provide travelers with all the right fitting gear.
Water Skiing : The Dulcinea has a powerful motorboat for water skiing, available at any time. We provide both single and double skis, and instructions on their use.
Hiking : Whether on a leisurely stroll or a fast-paced trek, a hike through the historic Turkish countryside is recommended. Our crew will equip you with everything you need for walks along the coast, in the hills or visiting ancient ruins from village to village: gourmet packed lunches, water bottles, trail maps, and suggested hiking routes. Our captain is very knowledgeable about the land and its history and will be happy to accompany you.
Swimming : Captain Sadi has been sailing the coastal waters of the Aegean for years and possesses an unrivaled familiarity with the most exclusive hideaways and coves in the area. Our carefully planned routes call for frequent respites at idyllic swimming areas and untouched beaches.

The Dulcinea offers a wide range of modern conveniences and technology for your entertainment while keeping you connected with your personal and business worlds. Choose a DVD from our large multilingual film library, listen to your favorite music on our multi-speaker stereo system or check your emails on our wireless high-speed Internet connection. For the business traveler, we offer a satellite fax connection, high-resolution printing, and 24-hour international phone contact.

To maintain constant contact with our guests, we offer the latest in walkie-talkie connections, available on all outings. The radios are useful when touring the various remote destinations or urban centers along the coast.

Day 1 : Bodrum
Upon arriving in the coastal city of Bodrum, spend your afternoon and evening perusing the seaside shops, familiarizing yourself with Turkish culture and traditions, and dining along the water's edge at one of dozens of outstanding restaurants. Bodrum is one of the Aegean Coast's jewels, featuring natural beauty, ancient ruins, and a thriving nightlife.

Day 2 : Knidos - Mersincik
Our first destination will be the mythic Knidos, an ancient Carian city rich with history and artifacts. In Knidos, discover the preserved remnants of an outdoor amphitheatre and an Acropolis and ancient temple built in honor of Aphrodite, the Greek God of Love. Here stands the famed statue of Aphrodite. It is said that in ancient times, pilgrims would travel thousands of miles to pay homage to Aphrodite in her temple. Guests will dine there that evening and spend the night in nearby Mersincik, a lovely area fronted by steep pine-covered slopes and pebble beaches.

Day 3 : Çatı Lagoon - Yediadalar - English Harbour
Awake with the sun and after a leisurely breakfast, we will spend the morning slowly meandering along the coast toward Çatı Lagoon, where we will prepare lunch and take in the wondrous scenery. Swim in the pools of Çatı or wander amongst the extensive natural beauty and ruins. After lunch we will set sail for Yediadalar, a colorful setting noted for its fantastic swimming, diving and snorkeling. Yediadalar literally means "the seven islands", and the untouched area features broad tree-lined slopes ideal for hiking and adventuring.

Day 4 : Tuzla - Ballısu
This will be a leisurely paced day. We will spend the morning sailing to Tuzla, a quiet coastal bay from where, after a free afternoon of wandering and shopping in this charming beach front resort town, we will continue on to the enchanting pools of Ballısu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 : Cleopatra Island - Karacasöğüt
Following some morning sunbathing, swimming and relaxing in Ballısu, our voyage next leads us to Cleopatra Island, a hidden paradise of sandy beaches made of shattered seashells, and scores of Roman ruins. A protected conservation area, this verdant island has some of the best-preserved remains in the region. Local myth has it that the soft white sand on the island was originally brought all the way from Egypt for Anthony and Cleopatra's honeymoon. Our evening destination will be Karacasöğüt, a small seaside village and port.

Day 6 : Çökertme - Oraklar
We will leave mid-morning for nearby Çökertme, a breathtaking setting framed by a rugged mountain range that rises sharply from the shore. Surrounding the town are fields of olive trees and other gentler slopes ideal for day trips. Çökertme is known for the hospitality and good nature of its residents, many of whom can be seen on the shores weaving carpets by hand. These townspeople have been the subject of good-natured folk songs for generations. After a full afternoon of exploring, we will sail to Oraklar for dinner and our final overnight stay.

Day 7 : Return to Bodrum
After a farewell breakfast, we will slowly cruise back to Bodrum. This final leg of the trip is wonderfully picturesque, suitable for reflection and saying farewell to the Sea. Upon arrival in Bodrum, transfer to the airport for your returning flight home or continue on to visit the other exciting and historical sites of Turkey.
